Building a viral Notion widget with a stranger I met online

BTS of how is it going and new video and reels feature launching soon!

Hi Superstar,

It's been like 3 weeks since I last popped into your inbox. What have you been up to?

I wanted to tell you about how I ended up building this widget with a complete stranger I met online. On Threads, yup, out of all places.

If you don’t know, I’m a hardcore threads girl where I’m usually just yapping on there or sharing more notion tips. But I was getting a little desperate at that point, so I decided to post about looking for full-stack developer recommendations.

Some people thought I was rage-baiting for virality, but I’m just a girl who’s trying to find my tech partner in crime. I really thought about deleting the post, because it was getting a little bit out of hand, BUT thank god I didn’t.

Beause I found the perfect person to build a whole new feature for you, and it's about to get SOOO freaking good.

I worked in emerging tech but never really considered myself a tech girlie, and here’s where the beauty of collaboration comes in. I guess I’m redefining tech on my terms, and that turned into building this viral widget that now has 900+ users loving it.

Honestly, writing it out it’s kinda crazy because it was always meant to just be a “fun, little project”.

But when two minds come together, great things can happen, and we’re finally launching a long-requested feature.

THE VIDEOS PREVIEW AND REELS TAB ARE COMING TO NOTION

Yup, that’s right, and it will be available from June 19th, 10 am GMT! I repeat videos will be available in your widget and I’m so freaking exicted for this. For any current users, this feature will update automatically, so you can just sit back and start uploading your videos from our launch date.

So, BIG CHEERS to George (the developer guy), for making this happen for our content and aesthetics-obsessed community.

Like, look at this baby!

I know this is random, but I had to tell you because you're part of this with me, and that means everything. Sometimes, making things fun means trusting other people to help with the stuff you're not great at, so you can make cool things together.

Have you ever had one of those random connections that just worked out perfectly? I'd love to hear about it!

Anyway, this new update is launching tomorrow, can’t wait to see your pretty grids on stories, please tag @shecreatesmgmt because I’d love to see!

Hugs,

Ania

PS. IF you’re feeling the FOMO, mark your calendars for tomorrow to get your own xx
